Slowpo(sium) is Go!
Welcome to 15 days of learning and discussion about the tertiary education third space
Well it has been a looong road but we are here. From now until Saturday Nov 30, join 50+ presenters and more than 400 of your third space colleagues in celebrating, sharing and discussing all things third space.
Content has been uploaded, activities built, accounts have been created, and emailed to participants. Right now you can login, create your profile, make your introductions and familiarise yourself with the space.
So what happens today?
11:30am (AEDT) - Southern/Asia-Pacific Launch
Join Slowposium organisers Wendy Taleo and Puva Arumugam as we officially launch the event. All content will be revealed and they will take you on a tour of the Slowposium site. (Links on the Slowpo homepage)
1:00pm (GMT) - Northern/Atlantic Launch
Our UK/European colleagues and co-organisers Gosia Drewniok and Maeve O’Dwyer will do it all over again, with their special spin, at a somewhat more civil time for our Northern neighbours. (Again, link is on the Slowpo homepage)
From there, it is kind of up to you. Explore, read, watch, play, discuss at your leisure.
Getting in
So far, logging in has been a relatively seamless process for most people. With all things technology though, some people have experienced glitches.
When you first log in, you will be presented with a screen asking you to change your password. This looks a bit like an error screen but it isn’t.
Be sure to copy paste your username (generally in the format firstnamelastname) and password into the fields. Some participants have reported weirdness with Google Chrome, so consider trying a different browser if you have issues.
The Slowposium is being managed and supported entirely by volunteers, generally also working full time at their real jobs. Please email us if you have problems (teledvisors@gmail.com) but be understanding.
Third Space Symposium (in-person Dec 1) registration CLOSES TODAY.
Following the Slowposium, we also have a one-day in person only event at the University of Melbourne going into the ASCILITE conference. Maybe I’ve mentioned it.
Registration ($56) includes lunch and morning tea and the event will feature 20+ sessions. Registration absolutely MUST close today. The time is now to decide.
Thank you and enjoy
